Nine Months & Beyond Doula proudly supports expectant women, couples and families in and around the Lethbridge Alberta area.

Krystal first became interested in finding more about birth doula's after her second son was born, here in Lethbridge, Alberta. Krystal thought she knew what kind of support she preferred and how much was needed, but quickly found out that what was in her head did not play out into reality the night her son was born.

Krystal started to research and learn more about the options expecting mothers had for pregnancy, labor and birth. This led her into taking the Birth Doula training here in Lethbridge, Alberta through DONA International in June of 2009. She was so encouraged by what she learned and how she felt empowered after the training. Krystal KNEW she had to pass along this information and share how she felt to the expecting women of Lethbridge and surrounding areas. This has lead Krystal on an amazing journey thus far by meeting exceptional women within the community, who have knowledge and experience that she can only hope to attain.

Krystal has taken the Birth Doula Training Course (June 2009) through DONA, taught by Elaine Montgomery and is currently working towards her DONA certification. Krystal has also recently just finished the Placenta Benefits.info Placenta Encapsulation Specialist course and is also working towards certification through PBi. Currently, Krystal is studying with Birth Arts International to become both a Postpartum Doula and a Childbirth Educator. Krystal has also had the great privilege of learning under Barbra Harper, through Waterbirth International in her Waterbirth Credentialing and Certification Workshop. She has also attended a Breastfeeding workshop taught by Jackie Glover; a local breastfeeding expert. Her future goals include becoming a Postpartum and Antepartum Doula, a Lactation Councilor and a Childbirth Educator.

Krystal hopes to one day offer private one on one childbirth classes, lactation classes and water birth/water labor information sessions that are tailored to each specific expectant mother and her partner.

As a wife and a mother of two, Krystal understands how important it is to put family first and that is her goal as a birth doula. She wants to keep the desires and expectation of the expectant mother first and help her attain her goals so she can have the best possible birth experience.  Krystal wants every expectant mother to feel like she has unconditional and unlimited support as she ventures into labor, birth and beyond.
